Job description

We're looking for a Data Scientist to join the AI Vertical. 

A vertical is in charge of defining methodologies and best practices within a domain, to increase Engineering knowledge. On a more day-to-day basis, the Data Scientist will be part of a Feature Team, which is a group composed of one or more members of each Engineering Vertical.

You will own strategic code. You will analyse data, find where efficiency is and take action to help drivers achieve it. Your aptitude for data modeling through datasets and AI algorithms such as K-Means, Neural Networks and data regressions will be generating content, in real-time, and get feedback immediately. At FuelSave, you will be accountable for your own percentage of spared liters and you will see your direct impact in the environment!

FuelSave (FS) is a real-time data science company that performs analysis for driving optimization. FS provides a mobile app that fits the truck driver's cockpit and performs everyday training on the job. With FS technology, trucking companies can reduce fuel consumption and CO2 emissions by up to 20%, thus increasing efficiency and reducing hazardous gas emissions.



You will be:

  • sharing ideas and proposing features to the VP Product

  • a pioneer using vehicle data to create tangible products

  • applying ML, AI and statistics to real problems

  • understanding how our truck drivers experience our products.

You must have:

  • a Masters or PhD in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Statistics, Artificial Intelligence or Mathematics.

  • naturally self-driven, proactive, systematic, well organised and rigorous about details.

  • Good math and statistical skills and an ability to apply those skills towards generating logical, accurate and meaningful models from data.

  • experience using scripting languages (Python, R) applied to statistics and/or Machine Learning.

  • demonstrated experience in ML techniques: clustering, classification, etc.

  • first touch with data ETL

  • experience in Unit Testing.

  • 1-4 years of experience in data modelling


  • Skills in coding for distributed frameworks (Spark, Hadoop)
