Job description

We're looking for a BigData DevOps that will integrate the DEPLOY department which is responsible for developing the branch Deployment across the company. On a more day-to-day basis, the DevOps will be part of a squad, which is a group composed by one or more members of each department of FuelSave.

You will own the backend of FuelSave, making sure our data is replicated and our applications are always online.

FuelSave (FS) is a real-time data science company that performs analysis for driving optimisation. FS provides a mobile app that fits the truck driver's cockpit and performs everyday training on the job. With FS technology, trucking companies can reduce fuel consumption and CO2 emissions by up to 20%, thus increasing efficiency and reducing hazardous gas emissions.



You will be:

  • Supporting the operation of Big Data clusters based on Hadoop, Cloud SaaS environments and other NoSQL technology stacks.

  • Integrating with new and existing IT systems.

  • Developing CI/CD pipelines.

  • Collaborating with Data Scientists to facilitate and automate deployments.

  • Improving existing automation tools with new features.

  • Transforming ideas into innovative Big Data tools.


You must have:

  • BSc or MSc in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Physics, Mathematics or similar field of studies.

  • Solid experience in a scripting language, preferably Python.

  • Strong knowledge of the fundamentals of TCP/IP, Networking, Firewalls, etc...

  • Experience with Cloud architectures and platforms (such as AWS).

  • Experience with DevOps tools like Ansible/Puppet/Jenkins/…

  • Knowledge of scalable systems like Hadoop, Spark, Storm, MQTT and a higher level language like Java/Scala/Python is an asset.

  • Knowledge about IaaS and Container frameworks, such as Docker, Kubernetes or Openshift.

  • Comfortable spending most of your day in Linux shell.
